Hard Good Returns:
Returns on Hard Good Materials will be allowed for up to 14 days past the original purchase date.
Returns on Hard Goods are not allowed past the 14 day limit. Please understand that the value of products carried by Countryside Greenhouse diminishes as the season progresses because we have less chance of selling it as the season moves forward. Having product off the shelf for 14 days during prime selling season is a costly expense, and longer would be unacceptable.
Live Plant Material:
There are times when customers bring product home only to realize that it is not going to work as planned. Most commonly this is because a color does not match quite as well as it was believed it would while shopping. Or it was unnecessary to plant as many plants as previously assumed.
Because of these reasons, and similar ones, Countryside Greenhouse is willing to accept returns on Live Plant Material provided Countryside Greenhouse staff deems it to be in the same condition as when it left. These returns are allowable for 7 days after the original purchase date.
Beyond the 7 day deadline returns will not be accepted on plant material products for any reason.
Damaged Plant Material:
Live plants are sensitive to changes in their environment. All plants residing in the greenhouse are in a carefully controlled climate. This climate has been constructed and is operated in order to provide the maximum growing conditions for the plants. Because of this, plants leaving the greenhouse will be especially ‘soft’ as they have not experienced deviation from prime conditions.
When plants leave this prime growing condition it is important that they are provided with growing conditions which are conducive to happy plants. It is unlikely that customers will be providing an environment that is equal to that from which they are coming. This can cause the plant to under go an acclimation period on plant material lines that are more sensitive and should not be a major concern as the plant will adjust.
However, if plants are taken from the greenhouse and not just exposed to normal outdoor conditions, but exposed to detrimental conditions they will display symptoms much worse than just a normal adjustment period.
There are three things that can quickly take a plant down once it has left our care: insufficient moisture levels, cold temperatures, and wind damage. While there are many variables in a plants care that can result in less than prime looking material, these three things are the cause of almost all damaged material that is brought back for diagnosis.
If such an incident occurs a customer is welcome to bring the plant material back to Countryside Greenhouse in order to receive advice on what has gone wrong, and instructions on how to nurse the plant back to prime health. However, because we are not in control of what conditions the plant material will experience once it has left Countryside Greenhouse we will not hold ourselves accountable for the condition of product once it has been sold.
This means no returns, refunds, or exchanges will be provided on damaged or dead plant material. This includes nursery stock from one year to the next. We simply do not feel it appropriate to push the cost of one customer’s mistake on to everyone else.
Customers should be especially aware of this if you are buying product early in the season when frost damage and cold nights are still highly probable.
All Returns:
Countryside Greenhouse will perform all returns in the same manner as the original payment. Credit / Debit card transactions will be returned to the same card, cash transactions will be handled with cash, and checks will only be returned via check processed by the office and mailed to the customer.
Countryside Greenhouse will only perform returns for cash on under acceptable circumstances as listed above, and only for 15 days after the original purchase date. Returns after the 15 day mark will only be processed for store credit.
Any exceptions to this must be made by management and can only be done so by written request from the customer.

Along with this request please include any pertinent information about the situation.
Countryside Greenhouse requires that on return transactions that the customer provides a valid State Issued Piece of Identification. Countryside Greenhouse will not use or distribute information taken from State Identification for any purpose other than to stop customers who habitually return.
This is done to stop customers who attempt to return hanging baskets each week in order to constantly have something new and fresh on their house. Or who purchase products like pond pumps and return them several times in a season rather than caring for them properly and performing the necessary maintenance / cleaning.
It is also done in order to protect Countryside Greenhouse from fraudulent returns with fraudulent information / receipts.
These are issues that have been experienced in the past at Countryside Greenhouse and have unfortunately resulted in making this policy a necessity.
It is also necessary for any return that the original receipt of purchase be present.
